Simon Gordon MA Hons, LLB, MSc
Simon's earliest, and lasting interest is Medieval History - but there are few employment opportunities in this area, so he took the nearest, and qualified as a Solicitor. After 18 years practice in Edinburgh and the Borders, the family moved to Orkney where he became a house husband.
He was then approached by Drinkwise Orkney (as OACAS was then named) to become a Practice Supervisor, and some time thereafter became the Manager. This was well before the financial collapse of 2008, and OACAS was able to enjoy reasonable funding streams to enable extra training and service expansion to what it is today. However, his time is now largely devoted to endeavouring to keep the service sufficiently funded to continue its much needed and appreciated services to the people of Orkney.
Catherine Tullock BA
Catherine is a relatively new addition to the team - she took over the post in March, from the previous administrator who had been in post for 14 years. Catherine's background is in nursing, she completed her BA (Adult) Nursing in 2005. She has lived in Orkney for a number of years, after marrying an Orcadian and moving here as a family.
